Tallahassee, Florida -- Foster children are hoping an artistic approach might help them find permanent homes.

In an ongoing effort to place foster children in homes, Tallahassee's Mary Brogan Museum of Art unveiled a new exhibit called the "Heart Gallery."

There are more than 100 of these exhibits across the nation so far...

According to officials with the Tampa Bay Heart Gallery, more than 40 percent of children showcased in their exhibit are placed in homes within the first year, making Hillsborough County the highest placement in the state and one of the highest in the nation.

Tarah Powell is one of the newest adoptive parents from the Heart Gallery. She joined exhibit coordinators for the unveiling in Tallahassee.

"When I saw her she just melted my heart… regardless of whether I have five, what's another one? There's enough love in my family and enough support," said Powell. "I am a single mother, I'm 26 years old, I'm widowed, but I'm very happy to take on two more children and never say never, and you can be a single parent and raise a family…'cause I do it."
