Pinellas Park, Florida -- The National Weather Service sent out a warning of the possibility of funnel clouds developing in the Central Pinellas area around 1:15 p.m. Thursday.
At 1:14 p.m. a NWS Skywarn Spotter reported a funnel cloud in Pinellas Park. Armed with his iPhone, Chief Meteorologist Jim Van Fleet shot footage of a funnel cloud from his condo balcony around that time in St. Petersburg.
Thankfully, the cloud fell apart, but no doubt gave residents in area who spotted it quite a scare -- especially with all the waterspouts and funnel clouds spotted in the area over the last couple of days.
