
Lithia, Florida -- On Saturday, May 30, Farrier Corral and Equine Corral had the honor of hosting Delta Mustad Hoofcare Center's Clinician, Alexi Gutierrez. Gutierrez gave an informative presentation on the science of hoof care management.
Alexi's presentation targeted both the horse owner and the professional farrier. Members of the Florida State Farriers Association (FSFA) were also present to show their support.
There was a slide presentation in the morning beginning at 9:00 a.m. with time for questions and answers. There was a lunch break and time for attendees to mingle and talk to representatives from Mustad and Surgi-Care.
The afternoon featured a live demonstration on the horseshoeing techniques and options presented in the morning's clinic. Gutierrez showed forging techniques to specialize shoes and how to shoe a particular horse. The clinic was held at the Crossroad Shopping Mall at Rt. 29 and Lithia-Pinecrest Rd. in Lithia where Farrier Corral and Equine Corral are located.
Surgi-Care Center For Horses, a full service surgical and medical equine hospital, was promoting their upcoming Bay Area Horse Expo - Hurricane Preparedness 2009 on Saturday, June 13 from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm.
This free event is designed to help the equine community prepare for hurricanes and other disasters. There will be representatives from many different businesses and organizations on hand with useful information and products.
