Tarpon Springs, Florida -- On Thursday, October 8, beginning at 7 p.m., the rock and soul band, "High Surf"" had people dancing in the sand as they started playing old music favorites with a backdrop of the setting sun.
They were entertaining as part of the Sunset Beach Concerts sponsored by the City of Tarpon Springs.
Sunset Park is a small park on the end of Gulf Rd., off of Florida Avenue less than a mile South of Howard Park. Concerts are once a month for most of the year and are free to the public. They are held on a Thursday closest to the full moon.
The next and last concert for this year will be held November 5 and feature Lil' Pearl and the Big Boys.
People come with lawn chairs and food and enjoy good music, fresh breezes and a beautiful view. This intimate park setting, complete with palm trees, is a real treat.
The City of Tarpon Springs Recreation Department had an information tent to spread the word about upcoming programs and events and sold some hot dogs and other refreshments for those who did not bring their own.
