A couple of months ago, 10Connects asked our viewers if they were interested in being a part of a special project. We searched for 20 volunteers to record events in their communities. We received hundreds of responses.

For one year, these 20 people would agree to send us video stories which would air on our newscast or get posted on our web site.

Here is how the project will work:

Every three months, shooters will be required to send me 10 stories, or clips which I can put on the air.

These clips can be about many different subjects. Things that happen in your community. Anything from bad weather to a child's play at school. Maybe your neighborhood meeting or fundraiser.

Each time they send me a video story that makes it on one of our newscasts, 10Connects will pay them TWENTY DOLLARS. And every time a story makes it only on our Web site, we will give them TEN DOLLARS.

At the end of 12 months and they have kept their end of the deal, they will KEEP the video camera I assign them.

10Connects issues a video camera, a tripod, a battery, and all of the necessary equipment to download video into your computer and a bag to store it.

My name is Mitchell Wallace, and I will work with this Citizen Journalist team to get these stories in our newscasts and online. You can reach me at: MWallace@10Connects.com
