I joined the 10 News team in 1999 as a general assignment reporter and that means I get to cover just about anything the Tampa Bay area cooks up. I love that part of my job. I never know what situation I might be in or who I might be talking to.
However, after being in this business for decades, I have seen my fill of crime and on most days I try to do stories that I find uplifting. Right now I'm working on a series of reports focusing on local "Heroes." So if there's a hero in your life, be sure to let me know.
I also enjoy working on environmental stories that take me and my viewers outside and into the wonderful area we live in. It's amazing what I've learned about the Tampa Bay area and all of its critters. One of my favorites was going on a boat with a dolphin researcher. She knows hundreds of them just by the shape of their dorsal fin. Amazing!

I'm very proud of my accomplishments at 10 News. Over the years, I've been honored with several Emmy Awards, several Regional Murrow Awards, and several Associated Press Broadcaster Awards.
Prior to joining 10 News, I was a reporter/anchor at WTOG and a freelance reporter at WTVT, also in the Tampa Bay market. My very first broadcasting job was as a reporter/anchor at WDAZ in Grand Forks, North Dakota. Brrrr! After more than 20 years in Florida, I am now a cold-weather wimp. (Except when I'm properly bundled up and skiing in Colorado.)
I graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in German. But please don't ask me to speak German, I don't remember much.
I grew up in the small town of Alexandria, Minnesota. It's a lovely resort community with a lot of lakes and I still visit there every year... always in the summer (that cold weather thing again).
When I'm not at work, my husband and elementary-aged son keep me mighty busy. I love music and play the piano and violin. In fact, I started out my college career as a music major. I also have a horse named Jake that I jump over just tiny fences with, but it's enough to get my adrenaline running. My cat Billy is both loveable and annoying in the way that cats can be.
