TAMPA, Florida - Alumni are getting ready to flock back to campus at USF but it's not for classes, a sporting event or homecoming weekend. The school is opening up it's free career resources - previously only available to students or alumni for a fee - to anyone who ever graduated from the university.
"We view our alumni as an extension of our students," said Dr. Drema Howard, the director of the university's Career Center.
Howard says the pilot program, called CareerQuest, will add three full-time job coaches and counselors and is fully-funded for one year. It comes at a time where job-seeking alumns don't just need help finding the right company, but also the right way to market themselves.
The Career Center will offer seminars, webinars, workshops, resume critiques, interview and career coaching, plus other job-searching tools.
Over 100,000 USF alumni live in the Tampa Bay area, but there are many more around the world. The resources are open to everyone.
