St. Petersburg, Florida -- "My boy is coming home!" exclaimed mother Shannon Burroughs, who just found out authorities found her missing 10-year-old son.

Eric Paul Burroughs had been missing since early Friday morning and was considered endangered because he did not have his medications. He was last seen walking away from his home in the area of 15th Av. N. and 58th Street North in St. Petersburg Friday morning at 4:30 a.m.

His mother did not report him as a runaway until Friday night, because Eric had gone off before against her wishes, but never for this long.

Since then, authorities had been searching for the boy in the Tyrone Square area.

On Sunday, St. Pete police officers spent the day going door to door with fliers of the missing 10-year-old.

In the early afternoon, Burroughs says, she got a text message from her son that read, "Hi, Mom. It's Eric."

That message soon led to authorities finding Eric.

"As soon as I see him, I'm going hug and kiss him for hours. Then, I'm going to sit him down and we're going to have a talk," said Burroughs.

Investigators say Burroughs left home willingly with two teens and one of their parents, who does not understand English well. The teens told that parent that it was okay to take Burroughs to a birthday party in Beverly Hills.

Burroughs' mother says she plans to talk with police about pressing charges against the people who took her child without permission.

Right now, Burroughs is in the care of Citrus County Child Protective Services while investigators make arrangements to return him home.
