Bradenton man robbed by masked men at his home

Bradenton, Florida -- A man returning home from work was confronted by 2 or 3 masked suspects who robbed him.

Jose Murio was coming home from work and upon arrival at his residence he was confronted by 2 or 3 masked suspects all armed with handguns. One of the men demanded money from Murio and Murio was then struck on the head with a pistol by one of the suspects. He ran to the front door of his residence and knocked on it so his roommate would let him in. When his roommate, Melvin Humana, came to the door and the male suspects held both victims at gunpoint and demanded money.

Humana then gave the suspects his wallet and passport. When Murio said he did not have any money, one of the suspects shot Jose in the upper right collar bone area.

The suspects fled the area in a black vehicle and could not be located. Jose was transported to Blake Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The investigation continues.
