Clearwater, Florida -- A St. Petersburg man has been arrested for lewd and lascivious battery on a victim under 16. He also happens to be a teen club promoter at Cafe Charlie in Clearwater.
During the investigation, it was discovered the suspect, Leonard Bame, met the victim through his work as a promoter for teen parties held at Cafe Charlie.
One of the owners of the restaurant told 10 News that he banned Bame from the establishment at the beginning of May after learning there was illegal activity going on during the teen parties.
"I actually witnessed that there was underage drinking, there was smoking pot in the place, there was urinating all over the parking lot," said Kris Jukic, co-owner of Cafe Charlie.
The victim, along with other kids, assisted Bame in the promotion of these parties. Bame would often pick up the juveniles from school and take them to various locations to promote the gatherings.
Neighbors at Bame's New Port Richey home said they have seen teens at the home as recently as last week.
"There was two young girls, like, walking in and just walked into the garage," said neighbor William Fitch.
Due to his frequent contact with children and other information obtained during the investigation, it is believed there may be more victims.
