Duplex fire ruled as arson, reward offered

Tampa, Florida -- Tampa Fire investigators have ruled a duplex fire on March 21 as arson.

An official report released by Tampa Fire determined someone broke into the home at 8109 N. Semmes St. and doused it with an ignitable liquid in the northwest bedroom before lighting it on fire.

It took firefighters about an hour to put out the blaze that caused major fire and smoke damage throughout the building that suffered a reported loss of $45,000. No one was injured.

A reward of up to $2,500 or more in up-for-grabs for information leading to the identification of the person or persons involved in arson fires.
