Hit and run driver of couple on motorcycle turns herself in

Brandon, Florida -- The woman sought in the hit and run of a couple on a motorcycle in Brandon has turned herself in to police.

Hillsborough Sheriff's deputies say 45-year-old Cheryl Brown of Valrico was the driver of the SUV that hit David Lindsay and his wife Connie while they were riding on their motorcycle on Bell Shoals Road near Bloomingdale Avenue on May 15.

Lindsay spoke with 10 News from his hospital bed days after the accident in an emotional interview where he described what happened.

"I asked the lady in the truck, she was looking right at me, I said, 'Can you please help us?' and she took off," Lindsay told reporter Charles Billi.

Following our story, Charles Billi went for a ride-along with a Hillsborough Sheriff's deputy as he patrolled the streets searching for the gold Lexus SUV identified as the vehicle in the crash.

Connie and David Lindsay have since been released from the hospital, however, doctors say it's going to be a 6-week recovery for them.

Brown has been charged with leaving the scene of a crash with serious injuries and driving while license suspended or revoked with serious injuries. Her gold Lexus SUV was found under a tarp in the back yard of a home on Wister Circle in Valrico about two miles from her home.
