(KHOU) HOUSTON – Deputies have released surveillance photos from the Silverado Movie Theater in Tomball where a man was fatally struck by a vehicle after an argument over a movie.

It happened after midnight in the 24700 block of State Highway 249 near Tomball. Investigators said three friends were inside the movie theater watching "300: Rise of an Empire" when they got into a heated argument with fellow movie attendees over the movie's ending.

Family members identified the victim as 23-year-old Michael Emerson.

"I know they were in the bathroom and they were discussing if there was going to be a sequel because of the way the movie ended. They were discussing it among themselves and there's some people in the bathroom and they butted into their conversation and put their opinion in about it," said Bridgett Hacker, the mother of a witness.

Deputies said Emerson and his friends got into a verbal confrontation with two other men regarding the end of the movie and both parties exited the theater. When the two men got into their white Ford F150 Crew Cab Truck, Emerson confronted them from outside the passenger side door, investigators said.

Deputies said the driver of the truck put the vehicle in reverse, striking Emerson and knocking him to the ground. He later died at an area hospital.

The truck fled the scene and now investigators are looking for the driver and passenger.

"Help us find out who did this to Michael so we can get justice for him and our family," said the victim's mother Stevie Garner. "It feels like a dream, it doesn't feel real to me right now. I'm good for five minutes and I cry for hours. I want to hold my child. I want him to say, 'I love you mama,' I want to see his big blue eyes and that beautiful smile."

Anyone with information about the identity and/or location of the driver and passenger of the white F-150 Ford Truck is urged to call the HCSO's Homicide Division at 713-967-5810 or submit a tip via iWatchHarrisCounty.
