Polk Detectives arrest man for organized retail crime

Polk County, Florida -- Polk County Sheriff's Office have arrested a man after he tried to steal infant clothing.

On Wednesday, March 26, Henry Sanders walked into the Walmart on Cypress Gardens Boulevard in Winterhaven, selected a tote bag and then proceeded to load the bag with infant clothing. He then left the store without paying for the clothes.

Polk County Sheriff's detective stopped the car Sanders was riding in a few minutes later. He admitted he stole the merchandise and Sanders was arrested for a felony due to two prior convictions for theft in 2003 and 2004.

A criminal arrest history revealed that Sanders had previously been charged in Alabama, New York and Florida with 23 felonies, 20 misdemeanors, and 7 unknown level charges. Of the total charges, Sanders has had 12 felony convictions, 16 misdemeanor convictions, and 11 unknown dispositions.
