St. Pete intruder petted woman's cat, police say

St. Petersburg police say a man broke into a home and took the time to pet her cat.

Police said Jasper Fiorenza, 24, went into a home in the 1700 block of Michigan Avenue NE, on Nov. 20, and the victim woke-up to see him standing at the foot of her bed.

When she screamed at Fiorenza to get out of her house, he took the time to crouch down to pet her cat!. He eventually left the house and did not harm the victim.

Police arrested him Wednesday after he was identified through evidence at the scene. He was charged with burglary of an occupied dwelling.

His bail was set at $20,500.
