Tampa Pilot Bank robber sought

Tampa, Florida -- Tampa Police detectives are asking for the public's help identifying an armed bank robbery suspect.

Police say shortly after 2 p.m. on May 16, the man entered the Pilot Bank on Bay to Bay Boulevard wearing a dust mask and sunglasses. He pulled out a utility knife and told the teller that he would hurt him if he did not give him cash.

The teller turned over an undisclosed amount of cash to the suspect. The robber took the cash and fled on foot across Bay to Bay Boulevard. He is described as a white male with dark brown hair and has a noticeable tattoo of a cross on the back of his left hand. He was last seen wearing a black shirt and plaid pants.

No one was harmed during the incident.

Anyone with information about this armed robbery is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-TIPS(8477) or text "CSTB plus your tip" to 274637 (CRIMES). Anonymous tips leading to an arrest may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000 in cash.
