Transient man defrauds St. Pete hotel

St. Petersburg, Florida -- Deputies have arrested a man who they say took over a room at the Don CeSar Hotel after the previous guest left and racked up over $3,000 in charges.

Deputies were called to the Don CeSar on Saturday, May 31 after hotel personnel discovered 32-year-old David Gordon Price's items in a prior guest's room. Deputies say the guest staying in the room was scheduled to check out today.

While at the hotel, deputies spoke to Price's father, who had come to pick up his son's belongings. Deputies say the father had just bonded Price out of the Pinellas County Jail after he'd been arrested for disorderly intoxication, providing a false name to law enforcement, and petit theft. He also has a warrant in Alachua County for defrauding an innkeeper.

Deputies say Price may have been in the room for about 3-5 days and may have incurred over $3,000 in charges on the previous guest's credit card.
