UCF police issue alert after witnesses see man push woman into car

ORLANDO, Fla. - The University of Central Florida Police Department issued an alert after witnesses reported seeing a woman screaming for help as she ran away from a man who pushed her into a car and drove away, according to CBS affiliate WKMG.

Two students who live in the dorms told police they heard an altercation then looked out the window and saw a thin woman with long blonde hair wearing a bright pink shirt and leggings screaming for help as she ran away from a man near the loading dock behind Tower 3 near Gemini Boulevard.

The woman screamed as the man pushed her into the backseat of the silver four-door sedan, which then drove away, the alert said.

The man had brown hair and was wearing a dark hoodie, according to authorities.

Police said they canvassed the area, knocked on dorm doors in Tower 3 and checked for surveillance footage. The vehicle involved in the incident was identified as a silver Ford Fusion, but it has not been located.

"We do not know whether a crime occurred, but the report is concerning, and we are taking it seriously," the alert read.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the UCF police department at 407-823-5555 or Crimeline at 1-800-423-TIPS.
