Wife, neighbors react to pastor's molestation charges

Brandon, Florida --- Police say it all happened at the Casa de Amor, or House of Love, church in Brandon.

Hillsborough County Sheriff's officers say 44-year-old Francisco Rios started molesting a 17-year-old girl in 2011 saying he was doing it because he loved her as a pastor.

Then, police say in April of 2013, Rios touched a 43-year-old woman inappropriately convincing her it was a way to cure a medical condition.

And finally, police say for about twice a week for the past year, Rios touched a 12-year-old girl inappropriately all behind the glass of what was supposed to be a house of worship in Brandon.

"I have 6 grandchildren, I have 3 children, and it's just a tragedy to me," said Diane Staggs, owner of the hair salon two doors down from the church. She says Rios was a nice man, visiting with them, even bringing them food.

"When you have a problem, you're supposed to be able to go to your pastor and he's supposed to be able to counsel you and help you through your hard times, not make you have hard times," she said.

Next door neighbor Crystal Haytasingh who just moved in three months ago with her husband and three children says she's in shock.

"Not a clue, I would have never guessed. Never... that's a little scary," she said.

Back at the church we spoke to Rios' wife Yvette.

"I can just say that it's not true, so just wait," she said before closing and locking the door on us.

Casa de Amor normally has worship at 7:30 p.m. We've seen people going in and out of the church this afternoon, but no word on whether they will continue their service.

Pastor Rios is currently being held without bond.
