Woman shoots at Manatee deputy, flees the scene

Manatee County, Florida -- Manatee County deputies have arrested a woman who fired multiple rounds at a deputy.

Darlene Miller was pulled over by a Manatee County deputy around 5:20 a.m. on Sunday morning and as the deputy was checking her driver's information, she took off.

MIller crashed into a concrete wall and then got out of her car. Deputies, who were not pursuing the vehicle when it crashed, walked over to go check on her.

Deputies ordered Miller to move away from the vehicle and all of a sudden she fired a round at one of the deputies. The deputy took cover behind his vehicle. Miller fired an additional two rounds and then fled the area on foot. No one was injured as a result of the shooting.

Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Attempted Murder of a Law Enforcement Officer. At this time, it's unclear as to why Miller shot at the deputy.

She was arrested Sunday afternoon in the 2800 block of 48th Ave. Dr. W. in Bradenton.
