Sheriff's office says there are no reports of crooks posting as electrical workers

The Marion County Sheriff's Office says it hasn't received reports of crooks posting as electrical workers. This statement comes after an alert from SECO.

The SECO alert said customers should be aware of thieves posing as utility personnel, knocking on doors, and robbing unsuspecting consumers at gunpoint during Hurricane Irma.

The utility says be very cautious if you receive a knock on your door during Hurricane Irma.

Utility customers should never accept restoration services from anyone other than their electric utility personnel.
