Venice, Florida - Two gunmen stormed the T.J. Maxx Homegoods store in Venice around 9:30 Tuesday night. The store was open at the time. The Sarasota Sheriff's office says the gunmen took at least 6 people hostage, 4 employees and 2 customers. All the hostages were out of the store by 12:30 Wednesday morning. Several Swat Team members entered the store. The last hostage to come out was a woman on a makeshift gurney. A Swat team member was dragging her on a lawn chair cushion. We're told the woman was injured because one of the suspects threw her to the ground.

After several minutes of checking the store out the Swat team came out. The gunmen were gone and the scene was cleared by 2am.
