Tampa, Florida - Tampa police officers are searching for the driver of the car they say hit a University of Tampa student and his friend before speeding off. The crash happened just after 1:00 am Saturday at West Kennedy west of North Blvd.
Police say the male student and female friend were walking on the sidewalk when a grey Toyota or Honda traveling west on Kennedy veered over the curb and onto the sidewalk. Investigators say the vehicle was traveling about 30 miles per hour when it hit the pair.
The victims 20-year-old Eric Nicoletti and 19-year-old Cree Alisha Riley were taken to Tampa General Hospital in critical condition.
