Clearwater, Florida - The parent of a Pinellas County student is complaining to administrators after a "Hooters Girl" was invited into her child's school to participate in Thursday's Great American Teach-In.
Every year, professionals from various career fields visit Bay area schools to teach students about different jobs. On Thursday, 23-year-old Brittany Morgan, a server at the Clearwater Hooters, was invited to speak to a group of high school and middle school students at nearby Calvin A. Hunsinger School.

"Everyone was very nice and they seemed happy for me to be there," said Morgan a day after the event.
But at least one parent from the school didn't like the idea of a server from Hooters coming to speak to students calling the invitation by school staffers inappropriate.
Morgan says while she respects the parent's opinion, she disagrees and says there was nothing inappropriate about her presentation.
"I didn't go in my uniform or anything. I had a track suit on. I was covered up more than most of the students," said Morgan who believes if she was a waitress at another restaurant, the parent might not have complained.
"I don't see anything wrong with being a server. Most of us are young women working our way through school and aspire to be other things in life."
Brittany says she plans on returning to school herself to earn a degree, perhaps in psychology so she can work with children.
But Morgan says even a server can teach students about the importance of professionalism in the workplace and self respect.
"Customer service is the most important thing about my job. To make sure I'm friendly and nice to everybody... and it's the customer that matters," said Brittany.
The woman who complained to school officials did not return a call from 10 News. A spokeswoman for Hooters says there are many careers for students to choose from, and they deserve to hear about them all.
As for next year, Morgan says despite the complaint, she wouldn't rule out heading back into the classroom.
"I would do it again. Like I said I enjoyed it."
