Hillsborough County, Florida -- Teachers who feel unsafe in the classrooms due to recent events now have the option to learn gun safety.
Due to popular demand from Hillsborough County teachers, International Executive Protection, LLC announced it has extended its offer of a free special concealed carry class to include Hillsborough County teachers.
MOM SQUAD: Should teachers carry guns for protection in the classroom?
This special class will be held in Safety Harbor on Saturday, March 30, from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. This class is normally $75.00 but is being offered to teachers with valid school identification at no cost.
International Executive Protection Owner and President Lenny Bogdanos said his company initially offered the free class to Pinellas County teachers and had more than 200 teachers sign up.
Word must have spread because he said they have now had requests from teachers in Hillsborough, Pasco, Polk, and even Orange County.
Would arming teacher stop school shootings?
"Though we realize this is a controversial issue for some, for those who are concerned about their own personal safety or simply want to take a proactive approach, we wanted to extend a special offer to teachers to thank them for their hard work and dedication," Bogdanos said.

Training will be provided by an NRA Certified instructor. The class will last four hours, the minimum criteria required to obtain a Florida Concealed Carry Permit.
Bogdanos says the one day class is filling up quickly so the sooner interested teachers pre-register to reserve a seat the better. A valid school I.D. is required.
