District: 2 Pinellas Co. Schools on lockdown, no one in danger

PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. – Two Pinellas County Schools are on lockdown Friday morning because of police activity.

Seminole Middle School in Largo and Bauder Elementary School in Seminole are on lockdown.

The students, faculty and staff are safe, according to the school district.

Pinellas County sheriff's deputies responded to a report of a single gunshot around 8:24 a.m. Friday at Rita's Italian Ice at 13147 86th Ave. in Seminole. The store owner saw three minors and heard the gunshot, according to the sheriff's office.

Deputies have two of the three minors in custody. Authorities believe the incident is drug-related.

The investigation is ongoing.
