(CBS News)-- Famed Chicago film critic Roger Ebert has been hospitalized with a hip fracture.
His wife, Chaz Ebert, told The Associated Press on Thursday that her husband was doing much better and "doctors are making assessments" about when he could leave the hospital.
Earlier in the day, she posted on Twitter that her husband was "doing well" and jokingly attributed the injury to "tricky disco dance moves."
Roger Ebert, a prolific Twitter user, sent his own tweet about the fracture Thursday afternoon:
"@Ebert Chicago: Yes, fracture. but no surgery needed. Details follow. :)"
