MIAMI, Florida (CBSMiami) - Claiming her insurance broker dropped the ball and
caused her to be slammed with massive medical bills after her son was
in a car accident, "Real Housewives of Miami" star Alexia Echevarria
filed a suit against them for $2 million.
Echevarria, who filed the suit against a company called Garcia
Lorenzo & Associates, claims the failed to execute her insurance
policy properly, according to TMZ.com.
In 2011, Echevarria's 13-year-old son was in a car accident which left him with severe injuries including injuries to his brain.
Because of what she claimed was scant coverage by Garcia Lorenzo
& Associates, Echevarria said she was hit with millions of dollars
in medical bills.
The reality star said when she signed with the company in 2008, she
specifically asked for the extra type of coverage which would have
covered the costs of her son's accident. She claims the company
carelessly left it out.
A judge has yet to rule.
