WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- Our sister station WUSA 9 caught up with rock star-turned-conservative pundit Ted Nugent on Tuesday night, after President Obama's State
of the Union Address.
Nugent attended the State of the Union as a guest of Texas Rep. Steve Stockman.
When asked for a quick reaction to Obama's speech, Nugent replied, "I can't say it on the local Washington, DC television channel."
Nugent, 64, says the president has not kept any of his
promises throughout his first term, and he's continuing the same in his
second term with this speech.
"I believe his agenda is to bring a bastardized version of fairness,"
Nugent said. "I'm just a guitar player, so bear with me. So, those that
pay all the taxes, in order to be fair, have to pay more... but those
who don't pay any, get to keep paying nothing?"
The Motor-City Madman also slammed the president's policies on gun control.
"Gun control helps criminals. Gun control reduces the self-defense
capabilities of good, law-abiding Americans. We can't let that happen
and I'm here to make sure that it doesn't."
Nugent went on to say that he thinks the whole world "sucks," but he
thinks America "sucks less." That's why he says he goes to Capitol Hill
and lobbies against Democrats and their liberal policies.
