ST. PETERSBURG -- A more than 90-year-old hotel in downtown St. Petersburg is in the final stages of demolition.
Crews brought in a crane around 9 a.m. Wednesday and the 6,500-pound wrecking ball is expected to destroy the building over the next few weeks. The wrecking ball will also smash the bank next to the building.
TRAFFIC: Lanes along Central Avenue and Fourth Street N will be blocked off for the next several weeks as workers continue with the demolition.
