(Florida Today) - Florida Highway Patrol troopers are reporting no major visibility issues this morning as they continue to monitor road conditions across the Space Coast for lingering smoke from controlled burns.
Some patchy fog was reported after 7:30 p.m. along State Road 50, west of Plantation Drive in Titusville but not enough to reduce visibility, FHP reports. Interstate 95 - from Micco to Mims - also remains clear of any smoke or fog while roadways leading into Orange, Volusia and Osceola counties are reporting few visibility issues from previous controlled burns.
Only one controlled burn was allowed in Brevard on Thursday, a 150-acre prescribed fire west of Interstate 95 in Melbourne.
A prescribed burn along Preserve Drive near the Indian River County line was reported to be creating some minor smoky conditions south of Palm Bay. Motorists will still need to use caution since conditions can change quickly, officials warn.
