JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) - Gov. Rick Scott told Republican activists that they need to unite behind presidential candidate Mitt Romney and the eventual Senate nominee.
Scott addressed nearly 700 people Friday night at a Duval County GOP dinner and stressed the importance of the election.
He said they need to hold every candidate on every position on the ballot accountable but then support them, saying if Republicans don't change the direction of the country, there will be no American dream for future generations.
Scott has made it clear he intends to run for re-election in 2014, but focused his remarks on the November races.
