PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WKMG) - Authorities in the Florida Panhandle want to know who killed a 3-legged alligator named Stumpy.
The alligator who lived in Gator Lake at St. Andrews State Park was hooked, brought to land and shot in the head sometime during the past few days. Park Manager Brian Addison told The News Herald of Panama City reported Thursday that Stumpy's tail was also cut off.
Addison says it is illegal to kill or remove wildlife from a state park.
Stumpy had been named by park employees.
Park police are investigating. They ask anyone with information to contact park officials.
