ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) - A central Florida man has been sentenced to 22 years in prison for the death of his infant son.
An Orange County judge sentenced 31-year-old Alfonso Tapia-Lopez on Friday. He pleaded no contest last month to second-degree murder.
Authorities say 8-week-old Alfonso Angelo Tapia suffered brain injuries consistent with shaken-baby syndrome while in Tapia-Lopez's care in October 2010.
The Orlando Sentinel reports that Tapia-Lopez was in the country illegally. He'll be deported upon his completion of the sentence.
