UCF student fatally hit by car

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) - A spokesman for the University of Central Florida says a student has died after being struck by a vehicle.

The Orlando Sentinel reports Brandon Howard was hit near campus Saturday. The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating. No other details were provided.

UCF spokesman Grant Heston said Howard was enrolled at the College of Sciences and was also a musician.

His Facebook page showed Howard graduated from Cypress Bay High School in Weston in 2010.
