AFGHANISTAN -- The Department of Defense today announced the death of a soldier from Coral Springs, Florida who was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan.
Warrant Officer Joseph Schiro, 27, died on October 6 of gunshot wounds suffered while on dismounted patrol, according to the DoD.
He was assigned to the 1st Special Forces Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne) at Fort Bragg, NC.
