PUNTA GORDA, Fla. (AP) - Three people sustained minor injuries after a single-engine plane crash in Punta Gorda.

The Charlotte County Sheriff's Office reports the experimental aircraft began having fuel troubles Saturday around 11 a.m.

The pilot decided to try to land the plane but came short of the runway at Punta Gorda Airport. The plane nosedived and rolled over.

The pilot and two passengers were taken to Charlotte Regional Hospital.

The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the crash.
