JACKSONVILLE, Florida (WTLV) -- A messy toilet and an unthinkable task has the parents of a Duval County third grader outraged after they say their daughter was asked to clean bodily waste.

"I was livid, I was upset, I was scared," said Millicent Jones, the student's mother. "I was scared for one reason: I didn't know what to do, because I didn't know what my daughter had been exposed to."

Millicent and her husband Anthony said they don't know why the substitute teacher told their 8-year-old to clean the contents of a backed-up toilet last week. Their daughter and another student were allegedly made to pull out feces using some toilet paper and then throw it in a trash can.

The parents called Dinsmore Elementary, Duval County Public Schools and Kelly Services -- the temporary company that placed the substitute -- to try and get some answers.

DCPS told our sister station WTLV First Coast News they can't discipline an employee that is not their own, adding that they rely on Kelly Services to hire the best.

"If your contractor doesn't do the job, then you're responsible so you can't just say it's not your fault," said Anthony Jones.

The third grader has been scheduled for bloodwork, but her parents want to know if Kelly Services will reimburse them for the bill.

In a statement from Kelly Services, PR Coordinator Denise Ridenour states "Kelly Services is always concerned when there are allegations reported of inappropriate direction by one of our employees.  We are looking into the situation fully and have no further comment to provide you."
