HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. -- At around 2:13 PM, Hillsborough County Fire Rescue responded to a capsized boat that had four boaters on it.
According to HCFR, two boaters were located first on the scene on dry land.
HCFR recovered one boater that swam to a dock and walked to a home following the incident. It was discovered that the fourth boater did not know how to swim.
The fourth boater was spotted holding onto a tree limb and HCFR was able to rescue them from the strong currents. The boaters told authorities that they had been fishing when a strong current overtook the boat, causing it to capsize.
All four boaters were medically evaluated, but refused to be treated further.
None of the boaters had life jackets on at the time of the incident. The boat was transported out of the water to a local dock.
HCFR shared some photos of the incident on Facebook:
