Women who have been treated for breast cancer may want to watch how much starchy food they eat.
Scientists at the University of California found breast cancer survivors who ate more foods containing starch were at a greater risk of having the disease return.
The study also found carbohydrates in general could raise the chance of recurrence.
The researchers say dietary guidelines for breast cancer patients should be re-examined.
