St. Petersburg, FL -- Experts in oncology and cancer research are offering tips on some of the best cancer-fighting foods you can buy.
They say the key is remembering your ABC's. Doctors at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston say "A" is for apple.
Studies suggest an apple a day may help prevent cancers of the throat and mouth, colon, lung and possibly breast. They say you'll get the most nutrients eating them raw with the skin on. According to experts, if the apples are baked into pies, they may be loaded with fat and sugar.
Also, pop some cranberries. The fruit contains benzoic acid which may inhibit the growth of other cancers, such as lung and some forms of leukemia.
