Italian restaurant calorie bombs

The weekend is finally here and like many people you probably have plans to eat out. But if you're thinking Italian, a new report from the Center for Science in the Public Interest says to beware of astronomical calorie counts at some of those popular chain restaurants.

Let's start with an appetizer. Olive Garden's Lasagna Fritta has 1,030 calories. That's a days worth of saturated fat and sodium to start your meal.

Heading to the entree -- Maggiano's Shrimp Scampi has a whopping 1,680 calories! The report says this dish looks like three Big Macs to your arteries and waistline.

And for dessert, how about a 1,190-calorie brownie? Carrabba's "Chocolate Dream" has almost a half cup of added sugar the same amount you'd get in a whole box of girl scout thin mints.
