Local sick children get superhero treatment

It was a magical evening at John’s Hopkins All Children’s hospital in St. Petersburg Tuesday night. Batman, Green Lantern, Superman and a Wonder Woman you may recognize (10News anchor Dion Lim), surprised sick patients with a visit and special gifts from Tervis and Emerald City Comics.

The superheroes come from Tampa Bay’s non-profit MUCH Foundation, which includes thousands of costume makers who donate their time and resources to brightening the lives of kids and families in need.

Tony Colton, a young man who has been battling cancer for several years now, says visits like the one from the MUCH Foundation super heroes helps him and the other kids forget about their sickness, for at least a little bit.

“It really helps a lot…and it brings good spirits.  I believe good spirits create a greater outcome.”
