New treatment freezes fat in saddlebags for slimmer shape

Tampa, Florida -- The battle of the bulge is getting a little easier to win, at least in the thighs.

Ladies trying to get rid of saddlebags have a new option in the Tampa Bay area that freezes fat cells for a slimmer shape.

We got a peek at the first new non-invasive FDA approved Coolsculpting treatment called Coolsmooth at The Vein and Cosmetic Center of Tampa Bay.

The new applicator spot treats the area in about two hours while you watch TV or surf the Internet.

Fat cells are temperature sensitive, so once they're frozen your body will naturally eliminate them slowly over a few weeks.

"The ideal person for it would be someone who's a little overweight, has some fat pockets or bulges that they just don't like the way the contours are," Dr. Jeffrey A. Hunt said.

Most people will do a series of two treatments to remove half of the unwanted fat. A single area will cost about $600 to $700 to treat. You can have a second treatment about four weeks following the first treatment.
