ST. LUCIE, Fla. (AP) — No good can come out of a drunken sword fight. In St. Lucie County, a confrontation involving an 18-inch sword sent one person to a hospital in serious condition. Two others were arrested.
The sheriff's office identified the suspects as 60-year-old William L. Luciano and his 48-year-old roommate, Patricia D. Best. The attack happened Monday night.
The arrest report says a witness saw Luciano swinging the sword and yelling. The report says he told authorities he was defending his roommate. Luciano faces several charges, including aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. No further information has been released.
Authorities said all three involved were drunk.
