It’s a secret no more. Fourteen months after 10Investigates first asked the state for details of its lucrative endorsement deal with rapper Pitbull, the artist tweeted out details of his contract Thursday morning.
“FULL DISCLOSURE,” Pitbull tweeted, along with a link to his contract and a statement saying “it’s been an honor to represent Miami and the Sunshine State.”
The word of the million-dollar-deal comes just days after Florida House Speaker Richard Corcoran, R-Land O’ Lakes, filed a lawsuit against Pitbull’s production company over disclosure of the lawsuit.
In October 2015, the state’s tourism agency, Visit Florida, told 10Investigates the deal included “trade secrets,” including a lower-than-market value deal with Pitbull where the state was virtually guaranteed return-on-investment.
