Largo police are seeking a man who tried to carjack a vehicle that had a teen inside.

At 12:25 a.m. Saturday, the owner of the 2008 Kia sedan parked outside a 7-Eleven, 5860 Roosevelt Blvd., and left the motor running and his 16-year-old child inside.

The suspect, a white male, approached the car, opened the driver's door and entered the vehicle attempting to drive away.  The owner of the vehicle saw this and immediately ran out of the store to confront the suspect.  With the teen, the driver was able to remove the suspect, who fled the scene.

The suspect is believed to be in his 30's, approximately 6 feet tall and with a thin build. He was wearing a long sleeve, button-up shirt.

Anyone with information is asked to please contact Detective Brendan Arlington with the Largo Police Department at 727-587-6730. To be eligible for a reward of up to $3,000, contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-TIPS or leave a tip on the website.
