New York, NY--The controversial new season of "Survivor" kicked off with teams split up along racial lines.

One of the white contestants may have summed up the controversy perfectly. She wondered: "Is this kosher?" Many viewers had the same concern.

The contestants were put into four distinct tribes--one with caucasians, one with Hispanics, Asian-Americans and African Americans.

Unfortunately for Sekou Bunch, a jazz musician from Los Angeles, the Hiki tribe--made up of African Americans--lost the first competition. Bunch was sent packing in a vote that stuck with gender lines.

"Life Around the Bay" anchor Dave Wirth talked to Bunch about his ouster and his reaction to hearing about this season's "twist."
