Armed Armwood student spurs lockdown

Seffner, Florida -- Armwood High School spent the day under lockdown after a 16-year-old student was arrested for having a knife and ammunition Wednesday morning.

The school's resource deputy got a tip from Crime Stoppers that a student had a knife, and the deputy found the student had a 10-inch carving knife and 31 rounds of 9mm ammunition in his bookbag.

The school was then put on lockdown and the campus was searched for any other weapons.

The lockdown was lifted about 3:30 p.m. after no other weapons were found.
