Tampa, Florida - "The bustle makes it stand out like a princess dress," says Andrell Coleman, holding up her beaded gown. But Coleman never got to feel like a princess, because her August 13th wedding with Winston Thompson never happened.
"It hurts," she says, tears streaming down her cheeks. "It hits home every time I talk about it, every time I go into the guest room and see my dress laying across the bed."
So what's behind all of Coleman's tears? Well, she blames her wedding planner for all her pain and heartache.
Coleman paid Rosaline Kail and her business, A Sweet Affair Wedding & Event Consulting, $5,000 to help make arrangements for a beach wedding at Sand Key. Coleman says that money was supposed to cover beach set up, flowers, a limo, and linens for a reception. But just five days before the wedding, Coleman says Kail called and told her that she'd cancelled everything. All Coleman got for her money were some flowers.
"I feel like she humiliated me, she deceived me, and I just want people to know - don't use her services," says Coleman.
10 News spoke with Kail by phone. She disputes Coleman's claims and says it was the bride who cancelled the wedding. However, Kail would not go into detail or speak on camera without her attorney present. 10 News will afford Kail that opportunity as we continue to cover this story.
We checked with the Better Business Bureau and Pinellas Consumer Protection and could not find any other complaints against this Clearwater wedding planner.
As for Coleman, she still wants to have a nice wedding, but with her savings gone, she can't afford one right now.
